Chuck out your old computer!
Does your office have a little pile of unwanted computer equipment? Or what about those old mobile phones from a few years ago that now look so huge and clunky?
Saturday 04 October 2008 (Sunday 05 October in Hamilton) is the day to get rid of all of your old computer equipment in an environmentally-responsible way.
What is eDay?
eDay was started by the Computer Access NZ Trust (CANZ) in response to a growing concern about the volume of e-waste being dumped in landfills around the country with a potentially toxic effect on the environment.
CANZ is a not-for-profit trust, supported by the Ministry of Education, and relies on the support of volunteers and funding partners to make the day a success.
What can I recycle?
eDay collection points will accept any old computer equipment, computer peripherals and mobile phones. This means things like computers, (unbroken) computer monitors, printers, toner cartridges, scanners, keyboards, game consoles and mobile phones.
So start sorting through the office and at home, to see what can be recycled on eDay. There's collection points nationwide, so it's really easy to jump in the car with your old stuff and head down to your local eDay site.
